Who we are

This website is run by amberdesigner, a web design studio at Vītolu iela 4, Bauska, Bauskas novads, LV-3901, Latvia. amberdesigner is the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us at support@amberdesigner.com or +371 6392 7391. We handle personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Latvian law.

What data we collect and why

• Enquiries. When you use the brief form, we collect your name, email address, message, and, if you give them, your phone number, company, website and budget range. We use them to answer you and to prepare a proposal.
• Orders. When you check out, we collect your name, email address, phone number, billing address, company and EU VAT number (if you give them), your project details and notes, and the contents of your order. We use them to confirm your order, deliver the project, issue invoices and keep the records the law requires.
• Correspondence. If you email or call us, we keep the messages and the notes we need to help you.
• Card details. The checkout does not store or transmit card details. Only the last four digits are held in your browser’s memory to show on the review step.
• Analytics (only with your consent). If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics 4 collects information about how you use the site, such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type. We do not use it to identify you.
• Technical data. Our web host keeps server logs (IP address, date and time, requested page, browser) for security and to keep the site running.

Legal bases

• Answering your enquiry and preparing or performing a contract with you: Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.
• Invoicing and accounting records: legal obligation, Article 6(1)(c).
• Keeping the site secure and running, and handling enquiries and disputes: our legitimate interests, Article 6(1)(f).
• Analytics cookies: your consent, Article 6(1)(a). You can withdraw it at any time from Cookie settings in the footer.

Who receives your data

We do not sell your data. We share it only with providers that help us run the business and that act on our instructions: our web hosting provider and our email provider. If you accept analytics, Google Ireland Limited receives the analytics data. If you buy a shop or a plan that uses a platform such as Shopify or WooCommerce, the platform processes data under its own terms. We may disclose data where the law requires it.

Transfers outside the EU

Google may process analytics data in countries outside the European Economic Area, including the United States. Such transfers rely on the safeguards Google provides, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses. We do not otherwise transfer your data outside the EEA.

How long we keep data

• Enquiries that do not lead to a project: up to 24 months after our last contact.
• Orders, invoices and project records: for as long as accounting and tax law require, currently five years from the end of the financial year.
• Analytics data: 14 months.
• Server logs: kept briefly for security, then deleted.

Your rights

You may ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to our use of it, or hand it to you in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting what happened before. To use any of these rights, write to support@amberdesigner.com. We answer within one month.

Complaints

If you think we have handled your data unlawfully, please tell us first so we can fix it. You also have the right to complain to the Latvian supervisory authority, the Data State Inspectorate (Datu valsts inspekcija), at dvi.gov.lv, or to the authority in your own country.

Security

We use HTTPS, limit who can read the messages we receive and keep our software up to date. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

Children

This site is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, tell you.
